Glass corrosion is irreversible damage that washes away the surface of the glass. Poor glass quality, extremely soft water in the dishwasher together with high temperatures and long programme cycles are all factors that lead to glass corrosion. Keep hold of your precious glasses.
Long-stemmed glasses are especially vulnerable in the dishwasher. Fine stems can easily break if they fall over during the wash cycle. To make sure they stay safe, our specially developed Glass Secure Tray provides extra hold and the best possible protection, not only against breakage but also against scratches.
Measure the hardness of your water.
When it comes to avoiding glass corrosion, the level of water hardness is an important factor. Soft water can dissolve mineral nutrients in the glass and cause ‘etching’ faster than with hard water. Use test strips from Bosch to quickly and easily determine the hardness of your water. This allows you to select the correct descaling setting for your dishwasher and protect your glasses from low pH levels.
Rinse aid: adding the final polish.
To make sure that water drains optimally from your glasses to give brilliant and spotless drying results, your Bosch dishwasher adds rinse aid during the last rinse cycle. It also neutralises soap residue and prevents deposits of lime scale so be sure to refill the rinse aid dispenser when necessary for perfectly sparkling results from every wash.
